Welcome to nurtureuk and thank you for your interest in our organisation. We are a national charity working across the United Kingdom delivering a range of nurture interventions to support the social, emotional and mental health needs of children and young people. Nurture interventions are educational psychologist-designed, teacher-led interventions for children
who often feel disengaged and vulnerable in an educational setting.
Over the last seven years, under the strong leadership of our CEO, the charity has moved from operating as a relatively small niche organisation to one with a turnover of over £1.5 million. His decision to retire in the summer of 2020 means that we are looking to recruit a successor to consolidate and lead the organisation in the next stage of development.
Our challenge is to recruit a visionary leader who can capitalise on the opportunity we have to establish the charity as a national authority and force for change. The heightened national focus on mental health and wellbeing matches our ethos and raison d’etre. There is an increased concern to ensure that all children and young people benefit more fully from our education system. Children have an entitlement to leave school well prepared to fulfil their potential, where their emotional and mental health needs are no longer a barrier to participating fully in society and the workforce.
The focus of our work, together with the national priority to support mental health and wellbeing, places our organisation in a strong position to make a significant contribution. Given our raised political profile, the charity is now working in close collaboration with government ministers, elected members and officials across the four nations. Our contribution as a key partner is in high demand. In order to respond to the growing opportunities, challenges and demands for our service we need a leader who can operate in an educational and business setting. We need to be well-placed to deliver a strategy that can respond to the opportunities available.
If you share our beliefs and values and feel you are in a position to play a significant role in leading our organisation to take this work forward, there couldn’t be a better time to join us. We have a highly motivated workforce matched by a board of trustees who are fully supportive, working together to ensure that all children are entitled to a positive nurturing experience. We are committed to a future where all children can benefit from a nurturing environment as an implicit part of their educational experience and social wellbeing.
We very much look forward to hearing from you
